Road to a Fresh Start
Coming Clean

Step 1 - Realize I'm not God. I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and my life is unmanageable.

Step 2 - Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover.

Step 3 - Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ's care and control.

Step 4 - Openly Examine and Confess my faults to myself, to God, and to Someone I trust.

God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.  Matthew 5:8

HOW TO DO THIS STEP

    1.  Take a personal moral inventory

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.  Psalm 139:23-24

    2.  Accept accept responsibility for my faults

"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us."  1 John 1:8

    3.  Ask God for forgiveness

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.  1 John 1:9

    4.  Admit my faults to another person

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed...  James 5:16

    5.  Accept God's forgiveness and forgive myself

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ
Jesus.  Romans  8:1
