  • Series: Evil

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:12

Why Does Evil Exist?

OPTION 1 Detached Deity
A cosmic power, unknowable and impersonal has no ability to connect with us.

OPTION 2 Non-Existent God
God is perfectly loving - God is all powerful - He must be able to abolish evil - But evil exists - Therefore, an all powerful, loving God does not exist.

OPTION 3 Illusion of Evil
Evil, suffering and death are all a illusion. God is good therefore every thing is good. You just think it’s not good.

OPTION 4 Transcendent God
God cannot be defined by any human concept including good and evil. God winds it all up but is unmoved untouched by any of it.

OPTION 5 Process Theology
God is in the process of development. He is trying to get to where he wants to get to. Some evil exist because God has not developed to a place to confront it.
