“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” Mt. 5:13-16 (NLT)
First Principle: Acceptance Paves The Way For influence!
“As he walked along, Jesus saw Levi son of Alphaeus (Matthew) sitting at his tax-collection booth. ‘Come, be my disciple,’ Jesus said to him. So Levi got up and followed him.” Mark 2:14 (NLT)
“That night Levi invited Jesus and his disciples to be his dinner guests, along with his fellow tax collectors and many other notorious sinners. There were many people of this kind among the crowds that followed Jesus.” Mark 2:15 (NLT)
Second Principle: Competence Paves The Way For Influence.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Col. 3:23 (NIV)
“Be wise in the way you act with people who are not believers, making the most of every opportunity.” Col. 4:5 (NCV)
Third Principle: Authenticity Paves The Way For Influence.
“A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” Mt. 5:14 (NIV)
